Land Suitability for Chili and Tomato Crops in Wayamiga Village East Bacan Sub-District South Halmahera District, Indonesia

Chili (Capsicum annum L.) and tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) crops are two vegetable horticultural commodities with high economic value market demand it’s becomes extremely important to consider land suitability environmental sustainability factors reduce losses increase the probability of success. This research aimed identify suitability, limiting factors, management for development chili in Wayamiga Village East Bacan Sub-district. The uses a survey method free observation distance system. characteristics identification employs Boring Technique on 13 units sampling 7 samples. Land analysis refers FAO’s classification system (1976) up sub-class using matching method. results indicate that is actually suitable result suggesting S3(write this full since it first time appears) 1.940,7 ha (42,1%) not (N) 2.666,3 (57,9%). Suitable usually moderately (S2) (do same as foe S3) marginally (S3). affect include rainfall during growth period, humidity, soil drainage, base saturation, pH, organic C, salinity, total nitrogen nutrients (N-total), phosphorus (P2O5), potassium (K2O), flood hazard class, average temperature, effective depth, surface rocks, slope. applied maintain farming Desa consists improvement humidity conditions, tillage, construction drainage channels, application lime fertilizers, nitrogen, phosphorus, prevention.
